If you love fruit smoothies, you’ll love green smoothies – which are basically fruit smoothies with leaves of some variety blended in.
Go for spinach, as in this recipe, and you won’t even taste it. It will just make the smoothie taste a little less sweet.
And in doing so, you will massively increase the vitamin, mineral and phytonutrient content of your smoothie – and also make it a more “balancing”.
Just assemble the following three ingredients:
- 100g strawberries
- 2 bananas, broken into pieces
- 100g spinach
Place strawberries and bananas in blender and whizz until smooth, then blend in the spinach.
This recipe will work in any reasonably powerful blender, but for a gorgeous smooth consistency with no green bits, invest in a high-speed blender such as the Vita Mix.
